Personality: Rachel has always been the geek, of any groups she was in, ever since high school. So she was never the popular one in her youth, which rubbed off on her personality. But when she finished her Uni degree on space and technology and got into NASA, she changed completely. Here she found people like herself, who were interested in space and what was happening outside their own galaxy. She is much more open now, and not afraid to speak her mind, and to just be herself, however goofy that might be. She has a lot of humor, and tries to always stay positive.
In her free time she likes to spend time with friends, doing whatever. Or hang around in her apartment with a good book or a movie. Other than that she is mostly just goofing around, trying to always have fun.
She dislike people who take themselves too serious, or who can’t relax once in a while. She doesn’t like avocado. Oh and she loves Ice-cream, chocolate, strawberries, movies, blankets, and dogs.


History:Rachel grew up in USA, Florida. Her family was middleclass so she got to go to good schools, and made a few friends, she lost them all when she went to collage though. She just hadn’t time to stay in touch and they drifted apart. Rachel has always been very concentrated on her schoolwork, but she did manage to get the time to go out once in a while, but because she was so certain of what she wanted to do, she would not stop before she had reached her goal. In the evenings in her home, she would sit by her father’s old radio, and talk to truckers, and other people with a two-way radio, as far away as the antenna could reach. She dreamed of listening to space, imagining that there would be all sorts of things she would be able to hear, if her antenna was big enough. Rachel was always very close with her sister and dad, but had a hard time with her mother, they just didn’t get each other. Her mother was a very Christian woman, and refused to believe that there would be anything worth discovering in space. Her and Rachel would get in very loud arguments, about big bang, or life on other planets, they mostly ended with Rachel running to her room and slamming the door. Rachel moved away from home when she went to collage, and simply just didn’t go back home after that. She found an apartment and got herself through collage and Uni by working nightshifts at a bar.
After finishing her Uni degree she worked for NASA, researching alien technology and finally getting to listen to space, with a huge radio. After a few years she was contacted by Torchwood. They told her that they had had an eye on her for a while, and they would like to offer her a job in Torchwood 3, or the new version of it. Rachel, who had always dreamt of space, accepted immediately, and have enjoyed the job ever since. Of course she had a few boyfriends along the way, but none that really got the whole space-thing, and they never lasted long. She was always too focused on her work, or education, to have time for a boyfriend. Which is one of the things she regrets now. Now that she has reached her goal, she is a lot more relaxed and tries to enjoy every day, and to notice all the people around her. Although she is so happy she got the job she wanted, she regrets not being more social and enjoying the time she had in high school, collage, and uni.

Nice to meet you Rachel. Here are a few things you need to know to survive at Torchwood: Firstly, if Jack starts saying something you don't want to hear - which will be regularly - just ignore it. There is no way of stopping him, even I don't have that power. Number 2: Don't open the rift. Don't. Ever. Thirdly and finally: I believe our motto was decided upon as 'Anthropomorphise at your peril.' I was going to have t-shirts made you but Owen complained, and Jack insisted I would still have to wear suit, so the idea was dropped quickly.
